That wasn’t snow. THIS is snow! It snowed again, and this time it meant business. We got about 8in of snow plus a quarter inch of ice to top it off. It made a wonderful crackle as I walked around to take photos. Many of the area roads are closed down, including the major 84 interstate in the gorge which was getting 65mph winds plus about 20in of snow. Good thing we live in the warmer Willamette Valley.
My mother was curious to see how I would decorate our new home. What with having a fireplace for the first time and all. Here are some photos of my holiday decor handiwork. I am already thinking about how I can expand on my Dickens theme next year…..
We had the first snow fall of the winter season, what a nice way to get into the holiday spirit.
This was our third year joining our friend Julia’s family for Thanksgiving. The theme this year was “you can never have too many pies”. Emily made pecan pie (for the first time) and her famous cherry pie (a big hit last year). Julia’s brother Dave made two wonderful Pumpkin Pies (a big hit last year) and a Mincemeat Pie. There was serious discussion after the meal that next year we should skip the whole turkey thing and just eat pie!
My mom Carolyn visited this weekend. We talked ourselves hoarse yet still found time to eat, shop, and talk some more.
