After the untimely death of Prince, the Crystal Ballroom, a local nightclub, had a Prince tribute night. No bands, just the awesome-ness of Prince videos and music. It was amazing how many people came, with most in costume.
I could have costed with the outfit I wore a few weeks earlier to the ’80’s theme event, but I always rise to the challenge where there are costumes involved. And, for what ever reason, I have a long purple dress coat so…my friend Kristin and I partied like it was 1999!
The Kennedy School is a unique place – an old middle school converted by a local restaurant chain, it not only has restaurants and bars, but also hotel rooms, a pool and theatre. Each year they clear out the theatre and it becomes an ’80’s prom’ theme party. Jeff and I went with two other couples and we all had a blast dressing in costume and dancing to our favorite 80’s tunes.
We close our trip to AZ with a montage of Jasmine in the various pools we had access too. While she had fun doing other things on our too brief visit, anyday that ended with a trip to the pool was a better one.
One of the interesting sites a tthe zoo, was that it is obviously run by peacocks. There were everywhere and pretty much ruled the roost. (Ha, see the pun I did there…)
Tucson has a great zoo. Not huge but beautiful with lots of open spaces and easy access to the animals. And… a baby elephant! So cute watching her run after her mommy
