The grand reception opened with huddled conversations and tasty treats. Crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops, and sprite was my combo of choice.
Dinner was a surf & turf of filet, shrimp, asparagus, and baked squash. Followed up by extravagant desserts of wedding cake, fine chocolates, delicate macaroons, and gigantic cream puffs glazed with caramel.
It was rumored some kids would have preferred McDonald’s – their plates were subsequently transferred to nearby adults with more refined tastes. The kids had better things todo anyway, like playing catch, dancing or gathering around the fire pit.
We reconnected with friends and family until dark.
