Nature Walk

After iceskating and a mexican lunch, I decided to stop at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge on the way home. They had a beautiful lodgy visitor center with a giftshop and small museum. Using the tripod mounted binoculars we ogled two bald eagles and their nest in the middle of the sanctuary. We then went on a drizzly nature walk around the site.

John & Lisa Visa: Mt. Hood loop

Today’s day-tripper was the Mt. Hood loop. Something I even haven’t done yet. We headed to the beautiful gorge with stops at Multnomah Falls, Bonneville Dam fishery, City of Hood River (where we had our first lunch), and then up around the backside of Mt. Hood through the valley of plentiful fruit orchards up to the snowy mountain top at Timberline Lodge (for our second lunch).

For some reason I happened to be looking up frequently at the lodge, where I captured photos of light fixtures, wood beams and artistic panels.
