Food Adventure – Korean

So last weekend we attempted to go to Olive Garden, but it was a 40min wait. So we wandered around the shopping complex and saw an interesting food display at this Korean restaurant. We had never had this cuisine before, so we decided to try it. The waiter/owner was very helpful in guiding us to a menu selection.

The use of eggs seems very dominant. For some reason, I was expecting everything to be very spicy, which is actually good for me, but Emily and Jasmine would not agree. Most dishes instead had subtle flavors.

Obviously we liked it, because we came back this weekend, and this time with my camera.

Jasmine has gotten pretty good with the chopsticks.

Trek in the Park – Journey to Babel

Another reason why we love Portland is the arts. Case in point, this summer’s season of Trek in the Park. It was a nice sunny day to be outside in the beautiful Cathedral Bridge Park to watch the show. It was a bit too hot, but the breeze kept things cool. Jasmine used the umbrella to create a pocket of shade.

Emily and I were both surprised about the huge crowd – and they were really enthusiastic. I didn’t know there were so many Trekkies here – or at least fans of ‘free’ theater.

The performance was a blast, awesome sound effects, lots of good Bones and Spock humor, and even some fist fights. They had an encore of an abbreviated version of “The Trouble With Tribbles”. At one point they threw like 100 stuffed animal ‘tribbles’ onto the stage.

Glee Dance Class Finale

I hope you enjoy these photos and videos from Jasmine’s ‘Glee’ dance class finale. I think she had a good time.

They learned four routines and a variety of hip-hop, jazz and ballet techniques.
