Hallway Fort

Jasmine decided to build a fort in our upstairs hallway. She was expecting this to be a permanent structure. I said us clumsy adults would not be able to navigate and also would stomp on her toys, so it would have to be removed. I suggested we take some photos to document her creation. She really liked this idea, and then spent an hour getting it ‘photo’ worthy.

Multnomah Days Parade 2012

I’ve been to the Multnomah Days festival in years past, but I’ve never been to the parade. So this morning Jasmine and I headed to Multnomah Village and got ourselves a good spot. Lots of good things to see, I especially liked the dogs dressed in pink, King Coal, and ‘The Beat Goes On Marching Band’.

As usual, Jasmine got a bag full of candy and even a toothbrush kit – which she put to good use later that day.

Daddy Daughter Night

Jasmine and I had a ‘Daddy Daughter Night’.

After work, I picked her up from camp. She was playing monster dolls with her friends. She asked for a picture with a couple of her camp leaders.

This is actually her last week at the Parks & Rec summer camp program – so I knew she would be sad. So on the walk to the car, I told her tonight we are going to the movies to see Madagascar 3. She was quite excited.

She then asked what was for dinner (which she asks every evening when I pick her up). I said we are going out for pizza! She really liked this plan. Also it was 100 degrees today, and I certainly didn’t feel like cooking in our hot kitchen.

After dinner, we got our seats in the theater. We both enjoyed the movie – there was some beautiful animated scenes and some good humor. Although, I think there could have been more penguins.

As the credits rolled, Jasmine got a bit grumpy and wanted to go home right now. I replied “so you don’t want to go to McDonald’s for dessert?” She instantly perked up, saying “I can go, as long as you get me a Happy Meal.”
