Jasmine’s 8th Birthday

Emily had many big ideas for this years birthday party. She eventually decided to have a small party with just the neighbor kids at our home. Emily went with a Tinkerbell theme with wispy veils and other fairy decorations in the dinning room. After the pizza and cupcakes, they had a tea party in the living room – with of course a Tinkerbell set. Jasmine loved all her presents – thanks to our generous relatives.

Wedding

We got invited to our neighbor’s wedding, whose daughter Grace happens to be Jasmine’s constant companion. Jasmine was very excited about the affair, and carried the invite with her for several days, as this would be her first wedding.

On the big day the weather was superb – sunny and in the 70s. Grace’s family were all decked out, and Grace had a fabulous hairdo of ringlets. The wedding was entirely in Spanish, and my four years of language schooling allowed me to understand every fifth word, so I actually got a foggy idea of what was going on. Even so, there were many emotional passages and songs that didn’t need translation.

Playing

While Emily was holding the baby, our neighbor’s kids came over and had a dance party with Jasmine. The little girl Emelia was quite fascinated with our balloons and played with them for most of the visit. Then the gaggle of kids went fishing with some toy rods and a bucket of water.

Baby

Our neighbor’s John and Lisa recently had a baby girl Alyce. They said we could babysit anytime. Emily immediately said yes and made plans. Jasmine was very excited about the event. And Emily got lots of baby snuggling time. Check out the cute baby pink outfit.
