We had a great get-together with Jasmine’s foster mom Kristi, foster brother Devon, and sister Destiny’s family. The kids played hard and all wore red cheeks from much fun.
We were all excited for Jasmine’s first ballet class. Mom had taken our daughter shopping for the primo outfit. And dad had taken her for a special shoe fitting, where the salesperson said Jasmine is an explosive dancer. We don’t know what that means, but we are thinking it is good.
Well the big day finally arrived and it went very well. She actually looked like she got tired, but maybe that was wishful thinking. As a bonus, Jasmine’s friend Ella is also taking the class. There could be a ballet playdate in their future.
According to the girls, this was Ella’s first official playdate, which apparently is quite significant for these youngsters. Although the adults think the tree lighting ceremony counts as the first.
The get-together was off to a rocky start, since Ella and Jasmine behave very much like typical sisters arguing and making-up multiple times during any conversation. With some helpful adult guidance, the girls agreed to the following activities: creating sparkle glue crafts, playing elaborate dress-up, and then settling down to watch a movie with popcorn.
Plans for another playdate are in constant flux. According to the girls, one day they want another playdate this very minute; the next day they never want to play with each other again. The adults just smile and nod.
